More Junior Science
On the trip yesterday Camron stated that he has a new science experiment that he wants to start working on. He wants help placing a lightning rod at the very top of Mt. Everest, which he understands to be "one of the world's tallest volcanoes". When we asked him why, he said it is because he has a "theory", but wouldn't say what that was. These theories are important to him, and I try to appreciate their importance also, so I won't completely disregard this request. However, Nepal is currently out of the question. I would eventually like to take him to Mauna Loa, the world's most massive volcano, and and study it extensively. Then travel to the Himalayan Mountains and study them. Then we could try to determine what mountains created by volcanoes and mountains created by other means (maybe plate tectonics) have in common and how they are different. Until then, I will convince him to scale the experiment down to something we can do here.
