Fall, 2005

Very hot again today but it was cool by 7 PM. Beautiful night. Some very large birds are moving around. All I see are their shadows, but I can almost feel their silent movement. Kilo has a no-fly zone through her yard and absolutely hates it when something dares to cross it. I used to think they were afraid of her, and maybe they were, but now I think that they tease her. A friend told me that I put too many personal thoughts into the perceived actions of those animals, that birds don't know how to tease, but he is wrong. All birds are jokers beyond belief.
