Interesting Afternoon

Morning Stroll

The water is nice, and when I take the time to pay attention, the plants have some interesting color patterns. Just a nice day.

Pond News

Bill's granddaughter, Cashlin Migues, was 1 year old today, which really has nothing to do with the pond except that she and Camron will probably own it some day.
So.
Here is the lady who will take over my science project in about 20 or 30 years.

Complaining About the Weather Seems to Work

What a pleasant day. The temperature is in the upper 40's and it is cloudy, but they are moving through and there are lots of breaks. Forgot about the gopher until today. Have plans to encourage him to move this afternoon.

I Didn't Hang Around Long

Cold wind today and although I spent an hour sneaking up the berm to the pond, there were no birds. It happens that way.
The red-winged blackbirds are in and out but will be nesting by the end of February. They are such neat little tenants.

Daytime Visitor

Ambled up to the pond and startled the heron. I barely got the camera turned on in time to even get this poor image.
Still cold.

Mostly Overcast

The pond just looks healthier when it is full. Brisk day.

Warming Nicely

I'm filling the pond today and it's really kind of coming back to life. The red-winged blackbirds were even back this morning. The only down part of that is I wanted to do something with the cattails before they camped out again. Too late.

I almost have the energy to begin the first step of finishing the waterfall. So that's good news.

Clearing

The pond looks sort of sad today. Good to see that Camron is still all over it. No birds right now but I still see the bittern landing right at sunset. The (curly leafed) parsley, sage, rosemary and -- jasmine are the only plants still active.
