Two gophers have been periodically attacking the pond berm over the Summer. Bill thought they were relatively harmless until last week when one of them reached the top of the SW berm. We then decided that they have to leave. I feel so guilty about killing small animals going about the business of their natural lives that I spent the last week trying to reason with them. I filled their holes back up with dirt, put sprinklers out, walked the dog all around where they seem to congregate, and even parked a lawn mower over the newest holes and let it run for a while. None of that impressed them. Today I put out a trap that we bought at the feed store and caught one within 30 minutes. What a final looking trap. Hope I never run into one.
A cold front is moving toward us and we should have precipitation today or tomorrow. The feeling outside is vibrant. Slightly hot but changing quickly.
