Monday Afternoon

An excellent storm is on its way toward us. The cumulonimbus clouds are almost boiling. I love these monsters. There is a palpable energy in front of them and I also love the jitteriness that it seems to induce in animals (including myself). These rains influence the tones of Fall. Sufficient moisture will create a sensory feast. Too little moisture and all events between late Fall and next Spring will seem to be lacking something; the air won't smell as fresh, the plants won't be as full, the animal body will appear less fat, and people will seem miserly.

It's over us now, doing the "calm before" thing.

Later:
Great show, a few drops of water, and then it sailed on to the South, but I see more clouds building in the North. This cycle will happen for the rest of the day and any group could be the one, or, they could all amount to nothing. (To any who notices the changes in storm behavior, I was so busy plagiarizing John Steinbeck I lost all sense of direction.)
