Colorful evening, and the extra-colorful object to the left of the waterfall is a sculpture that Camron created a couple of days ago. He at first made it for his mom so she could sit by it in her lawn chair during her spare time, and think she was at the beach. He then met Ron's niece Riley again and decided that she needed to take it home with her. Riley and family left without the sculpture and that started what reminded me of a part in the book East of Eden. When Abra met the twins for the first time Aaron gave her his most prized possession, the dead rabbit in the box. She accepted the box, but as she and her parents rode away she threw it out without even opening it. Anyway, the little boy in the story was crushed and so was Camron. He tried to get his mother, or anyone, to go and catch them. Then he decided that we needed to take it to their house. We finally convinced him that we would use all of our resources to get it to her, and might, but the truth is that her parents probably don't want to travel hundreds of miles with (or even own) a large piece of counter-top that has an umbrella straw duct-taped to the splashboard, overlooking a beach scene that was painted by a guy in kindergarten who has never seen a beach. It's just resting there until I can figure out what to do with it that won't hurt his feelings. And it is colorful.

The following 25 pictures are of Ron and his family on their recent fishing expedition and there are several obvious levels of skill among the group. A couple of times while I was watching the fish won the contest and I've been wondering, when that happens do you subtract your weight from the total weight of fish that you have caught up until then? And since I brought the scorecard up, what do you get when you hook someone in your fishing party? Ron's brother weighs at least 200 lbs and the little blonde girl set a hook in his lip on her very first cast the last time they were here. Did she win? Not that I want to play, this sport is too violent, but I might want to keep score some day.
