Will my conservatism never end?
Another day of barely discernible activity. I did walk to the pond and performed the entire die, gopher, die ritual, but that was about it.

The polite term is conservative, so don't say I'm lazy.
Walked to the pond, looked around, hated the gopher for a few minutes, and came back home. I don't seem to be interested in green and growing things today.

The sky has been interesting all day
Just scared the cranes off. I never expected them to be at the pond this time of day. Must be easy fishing. The catfish are all over, grabbing things off of the surface, so it's probably like fishing in a large barrel for those birds. I also heard the kingfisher scolding from the reeds. I really hate to disturb their home-life like that.

Bill's Vehicles
Bill asked me to put pictures of some of the changes he has made to the pickup on the pond blog. I was going to but remembered how easy it is to create these so I made a blog for his motor projects (sometimes they are motorcycles). It's Mr. Bill's Wheels and has also been added to the links in the sidebar.

The cranes are back
Not that I'll get another picture of them any time soon. My best chance is when they are lethargic from cold in the middle of winter. The gopher is still digging. I'm mad at him or her, but the pirate fish hook gopher death trap is still not an option to me (although its being ripped to shreds by the talons and beak of one, or more, of the owls seems just fine). More of a day to feel than to think.

Perfect weather and a full moon tonight
The clouds have been beautiful all day. I was taking pictures of their reflections in the pond and the fish started hunting on the surface (mosquito larvae?).
Just a pleasant day in early fall.

Almost a lazy summer day, but cooler
I spent some time at the pond with the kids. The gopher is still there, digging away, but he won't last for long. Four owls, a hawk, and many cats troll the pond area constantly for careless rodents. I've decided to find comfort in knowing that the balancing flow of nature does it's own work, and consequently, the destructive little rat doesn't have a lot of time left on our berm.

More rain
They cooked out by the pond for my sister's birthday (Mr. Bill's wife) and then a couple of hours later we had a really nice and refreshing, very cool rain.
A lot of nice things going on besides the equinox. The nights are cooling down and the moon is almost full and it will be incredible in the next few days.
