I'm realizing that years ago when it didn't rain very often, or very much, I would have called it 1/2 inch of rain, and by the end of the year I would have been talking about the day in late summer when it rained about an inch. Within five years I would have been joining conversations at the post office, remembering it as the year of the great flood.
Our finish the pond project has hit some snags, but we still have high expectations. Maybe I'll catch the sunset.
Missed the sunset while I was freaking out over a new gopher hole. It is on top of the bank on the southeast berm, right in the nicest part of the grass. I filled his hole with fresh mint and hate karma and if that doesn't work, - I might use a knife or shotgun.
I haven't paid attention to the rain gauge for the past week, but it has rained (sprinkled?) off and on. Today was typical but the clouds didn't build as much. They were still massive and interesting for a while. I heard the kids at the pond, but didn't see them.
