6/10 inch of rain and the heat is so intense outside right now it feels like being underwater.

Another Storm building from the West-Southwest
It is great looking outside, but the humidity is almost overwhelming. The cloud reflections are nice and koi are all over the surface of the pond.

Interesting Cloud Patterns
It was cold last night, and cool for most of the day. I don't remember much except the extraordinary number of caterpillars. They have eaten a lot of the ornamental plants and are starting on the weeds. The Summer drought will get them.

More Wind, but not as intense as Yesterday
and more heat, but not as hot as yesterday. There is the sense of a journey having begun - Summer sets in and the days get progressively hotter and dryer. By the end of June the days will be over 100 and the prairie grasses will have shriveled to brown stubs. The pond is actually more unique and lively then.

Suddenly, I remember about Summer
The sunrise and a couple of hours following were nice, although a little windy, and the evening from about an hour before sunset was very nice, but the rest of the day was not pretty. Very high sustained winds and heat for about 8 hours were a pretty good warm-up for what I'm remembering of the heat of July.
Cashmere and I watched the sunset and the baby bounce on the trampoline. Sixteen months old and she is quite an athlete on it. I mentioned to Cash that everyone with a child should have a trampoline and she said it would only work if people would invest in the safety netting, which most people won't do, and they would still have to maintain diligent visual attention on the child, which most people wouldn't do. Anyway, aside from those few negative aspects it seems like a good idea. It's been good for her.
