Still an excellent day. Slowly getting the grounds in shape.

None of the storms came through last night or today:
But one seems to be building right now. We've gotten a little more done, and the pond is just charming. If we get near, it grabs our attention and we amble about doing small chores for a while. The baby blackbird factory is in full swing. Two are learning to fly into my yard to hunt bugs and three have just hatched.

2/10 inch of rain last night
And we are under a tornado warning until 9 PM. Freakishly humid outside (this is an arid plateau) and the animals and plants are churning. Last night I watched two owls moving through our trees. They are silent alright, but it's just quiet period after dark.
The dragonfly is nice.

No rain but still possible
I actually spent a lot of time out here today. My sister and I sat and watched the fish and talked for part of the morning, I worked on the edging for a while later, and I walked around this evening with Cashmere and Cashlin. Pleasant.

Tremendous storm last night
It didn't last very long, and dropped only (?) 6/10 inch of rain, but it was fierce. The first few minutes were nickel to quarter sized hailstones, which shredded the pond lily pads but otherwise didn't do as much damage as the pea-sized hail from last week, then strong wind, lightning and thunder. All of the best components.
I feel like I'm climbing straight up at all times due to the humidity, but everything looks good even in slow motion. And even though the air isn't doing a lot for me at the moment, it smells wonderful.
