I did watch the cat stalk something along the berm today, and saw the owl fly over right at sunset - both nature oriented.

The sky was so beautiful today that I'm thinking of going to the pond tomorrow

Late summer of 2000

I viewed the pond from various distances today. This one was interesting.

But nice sunset anyway

I wish the cold would just show up and get it over with

Huge temperature change on the way

The daytime temperature tomorrow should be 20 degrees lower than it has been (or, closer to normal). I didn't want to scare the large birds away and didn't really bother the pond this evening.

Cats fishing for catfish

What a strange thing to watch. The mother cat started fishing early this summer to feed her kittens and now the whole cat family fishes nearly every day. No one has seen the smaller cats pull anything out of the water, but the mother cat does (she will even submerge the front half of her body). This morning they encircled the pond and all of them were staring patiently into the water.

Scary
Saw a covey of quail walking toward the pond earlier today but Camron scared them into flight, the heron was in the tree behind my house until I scared him, and then I scared a little duck when I walked up to take these pictures.

Another incredibly fine day

Am I perceiving differently, or is the weather much more agreeable these past few years?

Perfect Day

75 degrees, no wind, and the sun feels great. The pasture plants are turning toward more familiar colors - browns, tans and oranges. The pond is nice and still green(ish), but I don't have the surplus of enthusiasm it would take to hang out and enjoy it.
